Episode 7 Review
November 10, 2014

This time on Generic Girl we get to see Gillian, as she tries to rescue Pete, interact more with new places and characters.
Now playing off the previous episode are the jokes about unions. Unions are great and not great. What happens with Pete and his enemies is a great metaphor on that. Can’t play superhero without the proper paperwork. With what we know from the previous episode Pete didn’t pay his union dues. Captain Freelance sure lives up to his name.
Back to Gillian, who feels awkward in her reluctant hero role, as she attempts to track down Pete. If anything hero work seems to require actual practice and talent. Funny how trying to be the hero just gets her back into trouble, oh Gillian you try so hard.
Like most of the season so far, it’s the villains who get the spotlight. Every time we get to Doctor Mascalzone’s office/super awesome lair, a new feature shows up. Great sentient comedy with the computer for example. That sassy fembot adds the extra giggle to prevent the viewer from falling asleep.
As for the other female character, Hildy finally spends some moments outside Pete’s bedroom. She does take charge in that highly sexualized role, but it’s a little frustrating to see Hildy just lying around. In a skillfully edited sequence between her and Stacy she takes back the scene! Hopefully we’ll see more of that, because it’s obvious Hildy is a tough character.
This episode does a good job at keeping up with all the characters. The viewer isn’t left wondering where they are. The God Box is still hanging out with the ladies in his vacation destination. Hopefully we’ll see our Box come back into the fold of the plot very soon.
