Ruby Skye P.I. - Episode 11
September 21, 2014

Now the third season of Ruby Skye P.I. could have ended with Episode ten, because the mystery is solved and the bad guys caught. One of the high points of the previous episode was seeing the Flobbles in action! After so much hype and talk around the Flobbles it’s neat to see how they work, and they work adorably. I wish I could have one, if only Flobbles were a real toy. It’s interesting to note that Kid’s CBC didn’t pursue a merchandise route with Ruby Skye, as many studios team up with a toy company when producing kid’s shows.
The cool thing about Episode 11 is that it’s Ruby going around tying up loose ends. We see all the major storylines started off from the beginning including Diana, Von Schlagen, Edmund, and Kat and Hailey. I don’t want to get into it too much without spoiling the plot, but it this method gave Madison Cheeatow an opportunity to show off her skills.
Her scenes with Diana and Detective Von Schlagen were especially enjoyable to watch. In a previous review I suggested some of the troubles that Ruby ran into challenged her to be better. The scene with Diana articulates this the best, as the two have a long history over the three seasons. I also think the scene with Von Schlagen felt much too short. Von Schlagen and Ruby barely got to know each other, and there’s some unanswered questions as to how the Detective solved the mystery on his own. Of course the two could form a neat dynamic, as they both underestimate each other. It would be a great storyline to explore in another season, with Ruby Skye and Detective Von Schlagen forced to work for each other.
Hopefully we’ll see more of Von Schlagen if Ruby Skye P.I. produces a fourth season.
