Ruby Skye P.I. - Episode 7
August 23, 2014

The last episode ended with Detective Von Schlagen arresting Zoffie for the Flobble robbery. Zoffie is not guilty of flobbery. My guess is the person responsible put a Flobble in Zoffie’s donation box to frame him.
But really, anyone who steals a whole shipment of Flobbles wouldn’t put just one in a place that lands themselves in jail. Detective Von Schlagen seems to overlook this idea, even when Ruby points out that the rest of the shipment is still missing. The Detective is smart, which means he’s deduced the same suspects that Ruby has, but with the evidence found on Zoffie he’s obligated to pursue it. Von Schlagen has great comedic timing once again, and I hope he has some featured screen time in an upcoming episode. Of course spotlight has been shone on mostly female characters.
And again, we’re introduced to another female character: Trudy Snood. This intimidating hairdresser is Pixel’s owner, apparently Pixel’s name is Fluffy. Seriously, this woman is a little scary but she is Pixel/Fluffy’s rightful owner. Trudy is a great addition to the host of female characters, and is another example in Ruby Skye P.I. of girl power story because it has nothing to do with boys.
Personally I think the Pixel/Hailey subplot is a big strength for the show. Hailey Skye has often done things to add to Ruby’s storyline, and now she has her own making her a fuller character. Another example for Hailey is the Secret Sister Signalling System, the hair elastics popping up through the show in various colours. Each colour has a different message, and Ruby isn’t in the habit of listening to them. This reminds me so much of my relationship with my younger sister at Ruby’s age. Oh the ridiculous things we’d fight over. This adds on to the girl power theme that Ruby Skye P.I. has worked in.
Now the story shifts focus to Hailey with a runaway dog, and an owner bent on their pet’s return.
